Help Alyssa do meaningful work in Guatemala

Hello my name is Alyssa Hoenmans and I am a grade 12 at Sa-Hali Secondary School. This upcoming March I will be traveling down to Guatemala to volunteer at a local community. We will be building houses, visiting orphanages and installing Eco-Stoves. I have worked all summer and throughout the school year to go on this trip. Any donation would help and be much appreciated!

About the Campaign

Alyssa school will volunteer near the agricultural community of San Miguel Duenas. Despite being located close to Antigua, many families barely get by. Most are subsistence farm workers living in tin and cinderblock houses and use open fires in their homes for cooking.
Students will be installing clean-burning stoves with the guidance of Developing World Connections’ in-country partner Open Windows Foundation and local masons and builders. These stoves use far less firewood than open fires, so that means families can spend less money on and time wood. It also help reduce deforestation.
Alyssa and her classmates will immerse themselves in a new culture, while providing help where it is really needed.
