Support Amalie and Trip Canada / DWC

It's hard to believe but this will be my tenth visit to Sri Lanka, participating in the work Trip Canada and Developing World Connections have done, and continue to do. Besides the fact that the work has benefitted so many people - adults and children alike, and communities as a whole, it is even more rewarding to know where every dollar raised and donated goes. I know there are so many worthy causes out there, so this truly means the world to me. Thank you so much for your continued support and consideration.

About the Campaign

This year we will continue with our work on the Canadapura Children’s home, along with rebuilding 2 homes damaged by the severe flooding last May.
Both of families we will be working with live with some level of disability : the father of our first family is disabled and works when he can as a mason’s assistant, his wife collecting garbage to help make ends meet. The two children in our second family both suffer from Muscular Dystrophy, with the younger of the two being confined to a wheelchair, the elder soon to be. While as Trip co-leader with our founder Janet McKelvey my costs are covered, I will be fundraising to off set those costs and to help purchase the various supplies we will need as well our the various educational bursaries and scholarships we have created.
Hands down, this is the best 2 weeks of my year. The lifelong friendships I have formed on the ground and with our volunteers has been life changing.
